Protect your reservation
Calendar the dates that impact your vacation
A reservation is not finished when the confirmation arrives. The dates you add to your calendar can protect the value of your points, prevent missed opportunities, and give your family time to make a no-penalty decision.
Put the reservation itself in your spreadsheet or trip document: location, villa type, points used, and confirmation number. Then add the dates below to the calendar you actually check.
01
First Day to Reserve
Hopefully you are planning the trip before this date arrives It is the day your reservation window opens—not a generic “12–13 months out” rule.- Your Owner Benefit Level can affect how early you can reserve.
- MVC, Ritz-Carlton, Sheraton, and Westin resorts can have different reservation windows.
- Deeded Weeks owners can have a different First Day to Reserve than Points Owners at the same resort.
02
Your 60-day window
This is the most important date to highlight besides the actual vacation. Put the reminder 4–5 days before the 60-day date—not on the date itself.- Check with everyone traveling.
- Verify schedules, flights, and major commitments.
- Decide whether the trip is truly happening.
